Sarah Leibman began her artistic career in theater as a playwright (National Young Playwrights Competition Finalist, Lark Development Center Finalist and Youngblood at Ensemble Studio Theater finalist) and theatrical director (Artistic Director of The Invalids Theater). As a filmmaker, she has made a number of short films and music videos that have played at festivals nationwide, including the New Orleans Film Festival and Cinequest Film and VR Festival. She received the Betty Thomas Award for a Female Director and her feature screenplay was a second-round finalist for the Sundance Institute's Screenwriting Lab and a semi-finalist for the Nantucket Screenwriter's Colony.
