Rachel Garber Cole is a filmmaker and performance artist based in Brooklyn, NY. She has written and directed short films and video pieces including The Big Cheat, (2014, Mill Valley Film Festival; Sedona Film Festival) which was produced with Newton North High School as part of its Artist in Residence program; Pregnant and Dying, (2012, Portobello Film Festival, London; nobudge.com); Monsters and Animals (2014, Queens World Film Festival, NY; Nonplussed Fest, LA; Trenton Film Festival; Festival L’Inconnu, Paris) and her most recent film, Bluebeard (Bushwick Film Festival; Grrl Haus Cinema, Brattle Theater in Cambridge, MA; Queens World Film Festival). She hosts a monthly Bring Your Own Film film/video open mic in Brooklyn. Rachel is a recipient of the 2012 BAC Community Arts Fund, 2014 Seniors Partnering with Artists Citywide (SPARC) Grant and residencies at Prairie Center of the Arts, The Studios of Key West, ISLAND’s Hill House Artist Residency, and Ucross Artist Fellowship.
