Mariscela Beatríz Méndez was born and raised in Texas, where a passion for the visual arts lead her to Los Angeles to study Cinematography at AFI. Since then, Mariscela has gone on to work as a Director of Photography on numerous forms of media for companies that include: FUNNY OR DIE, COLLEGE HUMOR, and BUZZFEED, among others. When not on set, Mariscela has been the recipient of multiple filmmaker fellowships including PROJECT INVOLVE for Film Independent and most recently the TOMORROW’S FILMMAKERS TODAY program that was sponsored in part by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. Recent projects include WING CHICK, a web series for Kimberly Steward, producer of MANCHESTER BY THE SEA and an episode of the web series DRIVEN by Stephen Elliot, writer/director of indie film fest hits such as AFTER ADDERALL and ABOUT CHERRY. Her next project will be season two of the popular web series GODCOMPLX, an initiative from GOOGLE.
