Florence Buchanan

Florence Buchanan Buchanan is a documentary filmmaker and creative director with a passion for telling stories. She honed her creative craft at Deutsch, JWT and BBDO. She started to direct with a narrative indie short, Shepherds, which screened at film festivals in U.S. and France. Right There, A Short Film About Tolerance was filmed entirely on the 10th anniversary of 9/11. It’s a celebration of public school-educated New York teenagers, screened at U.S. film festivals and is in the permanent collection of National September 11 Memorial Museum. Buchanan was awarded a Getty Images Creative Grant, and created The Survivor Series for RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network), launched in 2016. The videos got press, increased views on social media and resulted in a significant increase in RAINN’s hotline traffic. She was on the jury at the Avignon Film Festival and New York No Limits Summit and is on the board of non-profit 3 Generations, helping survivors of atrocities tell their stories on film.
