Danae Grandison

Jamaican born Danae Grandison is an independent filmmaker based in Brooklyn. She writes directs and produces short film. In 1998 she started her career in design and advertising until 2011 when she discovered her love for filmmaking. In 2011, she won the SVA Audience award for her short titled “Unconditional Love”. In 2016 she graduate from the School of Visual Arts with a Masters in Directing. It was there that she wrote and directed her thesis film [Re] Defined, which premiered at Oscar qualifying festivals; Urban World in NY, as well as the Pan African Film fest in LA. [Re] Defined has received a Merit Award from DOIFF and is scheduled to screen at SAG Short film festival and Queens World Film festival.
