PROJECT SYNOPSIS: BEHIND THE CEREAL is a humorous and poignant webseries inspired by VH1’s popular ‘90s series BEHIND THE MUSIC, which chronicled the rise and fall of our favorite musical icons. BEHIND THE CEREAL follows popular cereal mascots as they confront themes of identity, gender, race, sexuality and politics.

PROJECT MISSION: BEHIND THE CEREAL aims to put a comedic mirror up to society, daring us to truly see ourselves by putting a new spin on the old saying “You are what you eat.”

ARI ROSSEN (Creator/Star) is a New York-based actor/filmmaker/pianist, committed to telling stories that contain laughter whenever possible. Ari’s indie debut, SOUND/VISION, won Best Short Film at East Lansing Film Festival, and has screened at 15 festivals worldwide, including prestigious ITVFest; SOHO International Film Festival; and San Jose International Short Film Festival. Some TV/Film and New Media favorites include lead and supporting roles in SOUND/VISION (Dir. Jeremiah Kipp); CollegeHumor viral videos; and the hit webseries MISSED CONNECTIONS LIVE (Best Comedy Series: LA WebFest & StayTunedTV). Ari’s theatrical credits include Off-Broadway, regional and national tours of THE WIZARD OF OZ and ANNE OF GREEN GABLES. As a writer-producer, Ari is now developing a number of projects, including BEHIND THE CEREAL and a one-man show called VALIDDICTION: HOW NOT TO FAIL. When he’s not creating, Ari can be found tickling ivories wherever there is a nearby piano, wrangling his rescue cat Batman, and planning his next adventure in the great outdoors. A proud Northern California native, Ari lives and hustles in Hell’s Kitchen, a vibrant neighborhood with a storied past and an ever-changing future.
